Hey, I dropped my motorcycle on the right side yesterday during a turn. It's a 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250r. Two pieces of fairing were damaged pretty badly (right side and front piece). I just got insurance the day of the drop (before dropping it). Will insurance cover the damage? Also is it even worth getting them involved? I already have very very high insurance ($400 a month for a Honda Odyssey) due to previous car accident. I don't want to get any more things on my record. Will my insurance go up if I call them? The replacement fairings will cost me $560 out my pocket. I have a $250 deductible on the bike. So I would save about $300. Is it worth it?

so, i went onto the website with the annoying singing fat man, got a reasonable quote for my classic car, declared all cars in my household, one of which is a company car with 2 years NCB. Paid the deposit and remainder was to be paid monthly by direct debit. After a couple of weeks now they've written to me wanting proof of the NCB I stated, wanting details of the previous insurance and policy number. So, I email them (as they stated in the letter that this would be the quickest way to resolve and avoid having my policy cancelled) saying the NCB was on company insurance rather than another private insurance which i think they assume I have (the option on NCB on the website included NCB on company cars), no response to my email, so I send another, now I've had a red coloured letter threatening cancellation of my insurance unless I provide the information. Tried phoning and it's either constantly engaged or answer phone. Emailed for a third and final time and put a copy of the email in the post with no response. I feel I have been totally mislead by assuming I have NCB on my company car policy, so, should they decide to cancel my policy can I get my deposit and 1st month's payment back? Citizens advice has told me that the policy was misleading and was not as described so I should be due a refund but how can I expect to get this if I cannot contact them? HELP and advice please!

I'm thinking of getting a 1991 Mitsubishi 3000gt. I would prefer the VR4 (DUH!), but if I can't find one(Right now I can find 3, so I'm not too concerned), I'll just get the SL. I've been paying my insurer monthly for several years. I have one relatively small accident where my damage doesn't reach deductible (so I have to pay for my damage out of pocket in full), they pay the other car which was around $1500 or so. My car is now only worth between 200 - 300 so if it was involved in an accident I doubt the insurance would repair...& write it off. Insurance is due for renewal & I have a 250 voluntary excess, which means that I would end up with nothing in the event of a crash. If I increase my vol. excess to 500 the premium goes down by about 30 which looks like a good idea to me but. If my car was written off due to an accident with another vehicle would I still have to pay the 500 vol. excess towards repair of the other vehicle or does the excess relate only to my car in this situation?

At the moment I have decided to hold off on purchasing a new vehicle. My previous car was a lease, the lease expired and at the moment I do not have a car in my name. My independent insurance agent is telling me that if I do not keep up a policy at even a low rate, when I do get a car (whenever that might be) and then get a new policy I would be subject to a surcharge. For this reason we are doing something very basic to keep a policy in place. This seems really strange to me and raises a question why do I have to have car insurance if I do not have a car? Why should I get a surcharge when I do get a car at a later date? This almost seems like once you're in the auto insurance system, you cannot get out without penalties. Seems a lot like the insurance industry is trying to get everyone to pay into the system with or without a car. And if that's the case this sounds awfully like the auto insurance industry has already set precedent on the health insurance industry. What am I missing?

Pulled over and had no car insurance?

I'm in the state of IL and I just moved here so I don't know their laws too well. I got pulled over a few days ago which really pissed me off because I make sure to do absolutely nothing wrong so I don't have to deal with cops. Well I got pulled over because my front license plate was in my front window instead of screwed to the front of my car (it won't fit there on my vehicle and where I come from you don't even need a front one).
